John Stafford Autograph book - Lillie Rockwell

William and Lillie Kibbe       

 

One of the acquisitions at we received lately  at the Stratford NY Historical  Society was Stratford resident John Stafford's Diary.   In this diary were many notes from Stratford residents.   One in particular was from Lillie Rockwell.  Lillie wrote:

    John- 

    Some little  taken of regard, 

    You wish from one to claim;

    But as time is pressing hard, 

    I will but write my name

                Lillie Rockwell

                Stratford, NY

                December 25, 1889 

 From the information that I have on Lillie. Lillie married William Kibbe in 1891. William Kibbe worked in his brother's store the Bliss Kibbe Store which is now the Trail Side Deli.
